Go green with Dimaco

Printing essentially comes down to four main elements – water, paper, ink and chemical. All of these become waste products at some point in the printing process. Dimaco minimizes waste and cares for the environment in several ways:

  • We don’t use film. Computer-to-plate technology eliminates the use of film, which eliminates film disposal, film storage and the chemicals used to accommodate film.
  • We use recycled paper. We encourage our clients to use recycled paper stock on their orders whenever they can.
  • We use products manufactured by companies that are environmentally sensitive. We also purchase paper that is chlorine-free.
  • We recycle all paper waste, plates and press by-products. From the press to the bindery, Dimaco recycles all paper waste, plates and press by-products, including oil and ink.We use water in processing. We’ve taken every step to remove harmful chemicals from the printing process and use water wherever possible. Even our in-line varnish is an aqueous coating.
  • We recycle all our toner cartridges for our copiers. We participate with all printer companies in their ‘ship back’ program on all empty cartridges.
  • We continually invest in the latest energy efficient technology.
  • We actively look for ways to make our office “green”.
    Some examples are as follows:
    -1- We print double sided in the office, where possible.
    -2- All lights bulbs used are of energy saving type.
    -3- We switch off lights when they are not needed.
    -4- Computer/Monitors are turned off when not in use.
    -5- We use email where possible to communicate rather than fax or letter.
    -6- We use video conferencing.
