In some cases, your print service provider may need you native art files in order to fix a problem or even make some on the fly corrections that you request. Packaging your Indesign file will be necessary so all the elements needed to update and produce a Print Ready PDF are available.
Here’s how to “Package” an Indesign file.
STEP ONE:
From the “File” menu select “Package”
STEP TWO:
Select where you would like to save your packaged files to go and select “Package”
STEP THREE:
Make sure your have checked “Copy Fonts” and “Copy Linked Graphics”
STEP FOUR:
Click “Package” and Indesign will conveniently create a folder with your Indesign file, linked images and fonts.
PRO Tip Extra: Before uploading or emailing your packaged folder, compress it into one file for easy upload.
